President-Elect '09-10:
Jennifer Burks, ASID
Boise, Idaho
As a designer I see a genuine benefit of a professional, national interior design association. Allowing the public to know through ASID that there is a difference when a design professional has education, examination, and experience.
As President-Elect I am excited to learn more about ASID, the national organization, and more importantly, our local ASID chapter. ASID Intermountain used to flourish with many events and educational courses available to our members. I would like to learn from members and past leaders to make ASID Intermounain the organization it used to be. Turning our challenge of a four state chaper into a great advantage, creating a social and professional network for our members in Idaho, Montana, Utah, and Wyoming.

Financial Director '09-10:
Danielle Robinson, Allied Member ASID
Salt Lake City, Utah
I discovered my passion for interior design at an early age and was fortunate enough to enroll in high school interior design courses. After high school I attended the Art Institute of Colorado and earned a BA in Interior Design. Upon graduating I started my interior design career by working for a small commercial/residential design firm in Salt Lake City. Since then I have worked for several different companies, which has given me a wide variety of interior design experiences, including: high-end residential design, custom furniture design, design center sales, production and custom home building, retail design, commercial design, and numerous types of sales with design-related products. Over the years I have operated an interior design business of my own, which allows me to focus on projects that interest me. My professional experiences have taught me that there are many facets of the interior design profession that I love, and that while I find myself enjoying all of them I also recognize the monetary benefits of being involved in sales and business.
Currently, I work for Premier Marble and Granite where I am a project manager. I have become an expert in stone countertops and I specify, market, and sell the products throughout Utah and the surrounding states. I've also taught several interior design courses at the Art Institute of Salt Lake City, which has been extremely satisfying for me because I love being involved with the school. During my experience as an interior designer I have come to realize how interesting business is and how a good interior designer can become a great business professional. Success in interior design often depends on proficiency in business. I look forward to a long and satisfying business career in interior design.

Communications Director '09-10:
Andrew Warby, Allied Member ASID
Salt Lake City, Utah
Why am I doing? That's the question I often ask myself. I currently work in the drafting department of a small engineering company in Salt Lake City, and I am always looking to grow and develop as a young interior designer. Prior to graduation from Utah State University in 2007 I spent six years as a military intelligence & foreign language specialist, which has given me tremendous experience in human relations, communications, and management in a professional environment. I have also recently started a small business designing wedding announcements and business cards.
Part of my mission statement may sound quite simple as I say "I will design a house where my family will call it a home, I will help others to do the same." I'm both flattered and excited to be a part of the ASID Intermountain Chapter Board of Directors for 2009-2010

Past President '09-10
Carina Russel, ASID
Livingston, Montana
Growing up, I didn't realize I wanted to be an interior designer, but I was always creating "forts" and decorating them, and redoing my room on a regular basis. It was after I was in college, that the idea of interior design became my passion. Shortly after graduating from Montana State University, with the partnership of my husband John, we established Rocky Mountain Design-Interiors. We will be celebrating our 30th year of business in 2008. We have grown from a small store front to 2 locations, one in Livingston, and the other in Bozeman, Montana. With designers working under me, I have really enjoyed "mentoring" and learn so much from them. Through ASID, I look forward to meeting and networking with other designers, as we all have our own unique perspective on design, that we can learn and expand on. With so many new developments in products and expansion of design elements, this is the most exciting time to be in the interior design field, and the most important time to stay current with the new information available.

Idaho Design Community Center Chair
Jane Borchers, Allied Member ASID
As the Idaho Design Community Chair I have enjoyed meeting other Idaho designers, learning new aspects of the design business and understanding the benefits of my ASID membership. This year's project that I am most excited about is organizing and participating in Paint The Town in June. I am hoping to make this an annual ASID volunteer event.
I started my professional career in the high tech business after graduating with a BS from the University of Central Florida. I later added a CPA and design diploma to my credentials. With this varied background I started my residential design firm, Cross Creek Design, 10 years ago. I get much satisfaction adding beauty, color, quality, and functionality to my clients' homes. My other passions are travel, cooking, and my family--a husband and two college-aged daughters.
