Strategic Planning

Newsflash!

Thanks to all of you who participated in our first ever chapterwide conference call last Friday.  We had some great conversations with chapter members from each of the four states.  In case you weren't able to attend here is a list of some of the major suggestions from our members:

1. Let Industry Partner Members purchase a profile on the website

2. Host a webinar

3. Add a link to our website to direct members to other professional trade websites, such as AIA, for available (and free) CEU's

4. If webinars become too cumbersome to direct between more than two points then simplify things and host a webinar between two points.

5. Establish a better way to add chapter members' profiles to our website (and paying money to do so)  rather than directing members/clients to the free ASID national directory available on its website

6. Address the public relations and marketing

7. Include more live feeds similar to the recent conference call for all members

8. Include more social networking opportunities

9. Make use of the technology available for our members

10. Update the email list

11. Schedule quarterly social meetings in stead of monthly meetings

12. Reach out to other designers in rural areas

13. Include public relations especially in rural areas

14. Print ASID brochures that help local clients understand the purposes & advantages of ASID designers; and, have these brochures available to those who attend monthly/quarterly meetngs

15. Advise the public about ASID

16. Invite customers to CEU's; have classes or seminars directed to clients

17. Share designers' best practices on the website

18. Establish something similar to the ASID national connex website for members in our area.

19. Find out where people's contact info or other information is on the website

20. Send an email blast in June to remind our chapter's members to update their contact information on the ASID national website so that when the chapter website is printed later in the year the information is current.

21. Have a directory of our members on our own chapter's website

22. Request that whenever ASID national prints periodicals, brochures, or other materials (as well as online references) have a tab or place for each state that says, "See Intermountain."  That way people who are looking for Idaho, Montana, Utah, or Wyoming (and are unfamiliar with the Intermountain Chapter) will find a reference that will direct them to the Intermountain Chapter

23.  Place a tab on our website for the public that explains "why hire an ASID designer?"

24. Place the NCIDQ definition of interior design on our chapter's website.
